Dr Daniel Wong

Geriatrician

Dr Daniel Wong (MBBS BMedSci MMed (Clin Epi) FRACP) is a Consultant Geriatrician. Dr Wong completed his medical degree at the University of Melbourne with a National Medicine Scholarship. Dr Wong completed his specialist training at Royal North Shore Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital and Gosford Hospital. He is currently a Staff Specialist Geriatrician at Gosford Hospital and leads the Community Geriatrics team. Dr Wong has special clinical interest in community geriatric medicine, cognitive impairment, movement disorders, polypharmacy, falls in the elderly and osteoporosis. 

 

Dr Wong is also passionate about academic medicine and the education of trainees, medical students and his patients. He is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Newcastle and University of Sydney and is the Medicine Lead at the Central Coast Clinical School. He has a Master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Sydney and has won subject prizes. He is actively involved in multidisciplinary clinical research, with peer reviewed publications in Parkinson’s disease diagnosis, polypharmacy, end-of-life care in dementia and the impacts of Covid on the health system. Dr Wong has presented at multiple national conferences and has won awards for his research.
