Dr Tony Youssef
Geriatrician
Dr Youssef graduated from the University of NSW in 1994 and obtained his Fellowship for the Australian College of Physicians in 2006 after completing his specialist training at Gosford and St George Hospital. He has been a staff specialist for Geriatric Medicine at both St George Hospital and Sutherland Hospital for 18 years. He is a Visting Medical Officer at St George Private Hospital, Hurstville Private Hospital, Waratah Private Hospital, President Private Hospital, The Sydney Private Hospital and The Eastern Suburbs Private Hospital.
Dr Youssef has a keen interest in the care of patients with cognitive impairment. He undertakes comprehensive geriatric assessments with a focus on managing cognitive and behavioural issues, multiple co-morbidities, advanced care planning, rationalising medications, evaluating falls risk and end of life planning. He has a special interest in haematological abnormalities in the elderly.
Dr Youssef regularly participates in educational sessions for local general practitioners through Primary Health Network GP presentations and hospital led GP seminars. He is also an active member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians regularly assisting in assessing geriatric advanced trainee reports.
