Dr Susan Zhang has worked across both metropolitan and regional Australia, giving her a strong appreciation of the challenges many older people face in accessing timely, high-quality healthcare. These experiences have shaped her commitment to improving access to specialist geriatric services and delivering care that is both practical and patient focused.

She has a particular interest in key areas of Geriatric Medicine, including cognitive impairment, falls prevention, polypharmacy, and preventative strategies that support healthy ageing and help older people maintain independence and quality of life. Susan is passionate about providing comprehensive, holistic care that considers not only medical needs, but also functional wellbeing, future planning, and the broader goals that matter most to each individual.

Drawing on her experience in Palliative Care (Clin Fdn Pall Med), Susan brings a thoughtful and compassionate approach to clinical practice. She places strong emphasis on patient-centred care, optimising quality of life, and supporting patients and families to navigate complex health decisions with clarity and confidence.
