Dr Anthony Marinucci is a specialist GP with specific interest (GPwSI) in Aged Care. He is the national Chair for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) specific interest group in Aged Care and the Deputy Chair for the Specific Interest Faculty. GPwSI's are an emerging group of focused clinicians who not only operate at the top of their scope but as clinical intermediaries between primary, secondary, and tertiary care.  With these roles and years of experience working actively as a clinician delivering outreach medical and palliative care services to aged care facilities in metropolitan Sydney, Dr Anthony has developed a unique and deep understanding of the challenges faced in delivering outstanding yet equitable medical care to our vulnerable aged population. This drive was sparked before medical school for Anthony, where he and his family experienced less than ideal end-of-life care for his grandmother, he knew the system needed change. Since then, he has remained passionate in pioneering new and innovative care models, by working closely as a team alongside other primary/secondary/tertiary care providers and aged care providers themselves, with the ultimate goal of improving access to high-quality healthcare for all older Australians.

Outside of clinical practice, Dr Marinucci is heavily involved in policy and guideline consultation. Some of his recent project involvement:

  • PHARMA-Care Quality Indicators for Aged Care On-site Pharmacists Program

  • IMPAACT (IMproving PArticipation of older Australians in policy decision-making of common health CondiTions)
